Who We Are

About Us

Dedicated to creating opportunities to transform lives within the City of Paterson's Great Falls Neighborhood, New Jersey Community Development Corporation (NJCDC) is a private, non-profit community development and social service agency focusing on education, youth development, affordable and supportive housing, and community building initiatives.

Founded in 1994 by Bob Guarasci with one other employee, NJCDC has grown into a $15 million agency, employing 150 individuals that serve over 4,000 children, teens, and families daily.

Our Mission

At NJCDC, our mission is to create opportunities to transform lives.

Our Vision

All 8,000 children living or going to school in Paterson's Great Falls Neighborhood will graduate from high school—ready for college and a career.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

NJCDC is committed to providing an environment where all individuals are treated with respect and dignity. It is a central component of our mission to respect, celebrate, and encourage diversity, and we are dedicated to ensuring that our organization reflects the diversity of the community we serve. NJCDC believes that each individual has the right to work in a professional atmosphere that promotes equal employment opportunities and prohibits discriminatory practices. We celebrate and are fully committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion amongst our staff, Board of Trustees, program participants, and service recipients. Our board and staff collectively reflect the diversity of the city we serve, and our efforts to increase diversity are ongoing. We enthusiastically offer staff professional development to promote organizational diversity, equity, and inclusion. We are proud that more members of our staff call Paterson their home than any other municipality.
